Your name is not very common, where are you from?
I was born in Poland. When I was seven years old all of my family moved to Hannover, Germany. I spent my childhood there. I came to Barcelona in 2001 where I now live with my son Leonardo.
What inspired you to become a makeup artist & hairstylist?
I have always been interested in beauty, makeup and hairdos. I remember finding a Versace catalogue at home, ripping out the pages and pinning them up in my room. As a teenager I started to practice on my mother, sister and friends. But it wasn't until 2004 that I decided to make a real profession of what started out as a hobby.
"Holistic Approach to Beauty", what does that mean?
I believe that authentic beauty comes from the inside. Holistic means, you are not only treating one part of something or someone, you treat the wholeness. Beauty is the result of the overall health of the body, mind and soul.
So how do you implement this the day of a photo shooting?
I try to be coherent. How I treat myself, I treat others. I use organic, sustainable and eco-friendly products. Rather than putting layers of foundation on someone's face I start with a draining face & neck massage. I make them drink a big cup of warm water with lemon for the draining effect while I go on with the hair. By this time their face is sculpted and glowing and we've created positive vibes for the rest of the day. I've also studied energy healing, so I make sure the energy in the room is right. I bond with the person I have in my chair and in the end they are glowing from the inside and have the best attitude to be in front of the camera.
Who are your clients?
I have worked for brands such as Replay, Puma, Nike, Mercedes, Lexus, Adidas, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius, Mango, Davidoff, Birkenstock, Audi, Fujitsu and Siemens among many others. My work has also been published in magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Glamour, Telva, L'Officiel, Grazia, Cosmopolitan, Men's Health and many more.
What do you like most about your job?
I love to be able to connect with different people every time and make a positive impact on their lives. It's never the same and always rewarding. I also love my outdoor jobs, I am so happy in nature.
Have you worked with any celebrities?
Yes, I have worked with Irina Shayk, Alessandra Ambrosio, Antonio Banderas, Elsa Pataky, Andrés Velencoso, Leo Messi, Neymar, Laura Pausini, Julio Iglesias Jr., Amaia Salamanca, Nieves Alvarez, Eugenia Silva, Martina Klein, Loles León, Alejandro Sanz, Bimba Bosé and many others mostly from the Spanish territory.
Any makeup or hair tricks?
When you feel like you have put on too much makeup, give it a little time and make sure you sweat a little, the makeup needs to melt with your skin to look natural. Clip your dry hair into a banana, spray it with hairspray and leave for an hour to achieve soft beachy waves.
What do you do when you are not working?
I like running in nature, surfing, yoga, meditation, dancing, eating out and of course spending time with my son.
